Uncle Ducky Outdoors is looking for a couple that is a USCG certified Boat Captain to run our 40- and 50-foot catamarans and another to work in our main check in office at our Au train Beach Glamping Resort.
The Tour Boat Captain Position
Grand Island Cruises is hiring full-time USCG Licensed Boat Captains. Positions start May 15th 2026 – October 8th 2026. As a Captain on our 40ft and 50 foots catamarans, you will be responsible for following:
-Safe Boat Handling/Docking
-Engaging with Customers and Giving Portions of the Tour
-Providing an Experience for Customers
-Fueling & Cleaning Boats
-General Vessel Maintenance inspections
Having an outgoing personality and a positive attitude is a must! Captains must be able to get on and off boats efficiently, lift 50 pounds, & work outdoors in the fun ever changing environment of Lake Superior.
Master Captains license REQUIRED (require a 25-ton minimum with a Great Lakes endorsement). Each Captain must pass a drug screening/be enrolled in a Drug Consortium.
Pay is Hourly (starting at $30.00 per hour) + Tips. Trips are 3 hours per trip with pre trip prep and post trip shut down. Typical days are 9 hours.
The Au Train Beach Campground Position
You will be working at our check in office checking in guests coming to stay at our Glamping resort. Au Train Beach Campground is a 60-site glamping resort that features staying in our Yurts, Safari Tent, Tipis and Pitch your own tent sights. It features a beautiful sandy beach right across the street and welcomes guests from all over the world to spend a few days along the shores of Lake Superior enjoying all that Munising and Pictured Rocks has to offer. You must be customer service oriented.
Pay is Hourly (starting at $16.00 per hour) Full time guaranteed 40 hours a week during peak season mid-June to September 10th. Off peak hours may vary early and late season with the exception of holidays.
Duties include but are not limited to:
-Checking customers in and out
-Computer-based registration
-General administrative duties
-Organizing cleaning schedules
-Attending to the general needs of customers
-Cashiering
-Evening security
-Evening trash removal
-Cleaning and housekeeping
Housing options are available and provided by Uncle Ducky Outdoors. As an employee you are not charged for the provided housing. Included with the position can be a FHU site or we have a 28ft bumper pull available, free WIFI, free laundry facilities, free company activities, and meal and merchandise discounts.
